The conference scheduled for two days promises to bring together knowledgeable economists and experienced researchers from all over the world, as well as industry leaders and policy-makers, as they explore the possibilities open to small economies. March 9, 2017; 8:00 a.m. Jamaica Time (GMT -0500)

The keynote speaker for the conference is Arye L. Hillman, Professor of Economics, Bar-llan University, Israel. Presenters from numerous countries, including economists based in the Caribbean, the South Pacific, Africa and North America, will allow for a diversity of perspectives on and approaches to a common set of issues affecting small island developing states and developing countries.

Each Campus of The University of the West Indies has a Campus Council. The Campus Council is the governing and executive body of the Campus, with powers vested by the University Council, to manage all matters as prescribed in Statute 21 and subject to The UWI’s Charter. At each meeting of Campus Council, the Campus Principal reports to the membership all activities undertaken over the previous academic year, and these include inter alia academic and curriculum updates, changing statistics on students enrollment and graduate throughput, and staffing across all levels of the Campus; management and expansion of the physical Campus sites; and strategic initiatives that are being undertaken to enhance the delivery of all services provided by the Campus.

The fourth National Cyber Security Conference on Mobile Money, Online Banking and Citizen Awareness - November 28-29, 2016 at the UWI Regional Headquarters, Kingston, Jamaica. The two-day Conference aims to provide information to stakeholders on how to identify cyber threats. It explores the economic, legal, regulatory and ethical issues involved in cyber security with national, regional and international partners who will discuss evolving cyber security and data protection strategies affecting the financial sector, its customers and government agencies. The Conference is hosted by the Mona ICT Policy Centre (CARIMAC), UWI in association with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the global Internet Society (ISOC).
